Playing with children can be pretty exhausting. My daughter loved her Lego pirate ship set and had me narrating the lives of ten swashbuckling sailors on the high seas every day. I needed to be on top form or she would catch my day to day continuity errors π

I would say it's pretty common but not normal.
Also, it's not common in every social circle.
I would always drink whenever I hang out with my kids. Sometimes I would bring them to the bar with me and I would let them take a sip of my whiskey.
