I served these on slices of Ryvita Crispbread with Heinz Ketchup. I burned them whilst outside getting a beer. If you would like to see an image of the plating/service presentation I have uploaded a photo here: https://ibb.co/R3d2LJX

Feedback is very welcome. They were actually OK. I paired them with a Kinnegar Crossroads West Coast IPA (6.2 APV) drank straight from the can at first, I then broke down and got a glass.

You can't really burn anything that is classified as a canned meat product. What I see is a decent char and is totally acceptable. Did you "burn" the cheese? That has a fancy name or something, so it must taste good as well.

no the Easy Singles were perfectly melted. Thank you for the feedback on the char

If you're using ketchup may I suggest using off-brand ketchup to get all the watery goodness.

Someone should just start selling whole bottles of ketchup precum.

I’m sad….

You win!

I do like me some spam sometimes. I used to make stuff like this when I first started trying spam, but the saltiness even in the low salt version is too much for me. I prefer cutting it into cubes and mixing it in something else like eggs, rice, etc instead of salting it to get the sodium levels to a good place. Though I never put cheese on it... Shit might be hella good as a Spam'n'Cheese sandwich.

[–] MrJameGumb@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

I can't buy it anymore because I'll just eat the whole thing with a fork straight out of the can and then feel sick for like two days afterwards

[–] Someonelol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago

It does make a good sandwich. I usually throw in some Devil's Spit sauce for an extra kick.

All crowded to one side as well, bravo

[–] JudahBenHur@lemm.ee 7 points 2 months ago

thats how I cook, I only use the left side of the pan if I have absolutely no choice

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Are you Ojibway by any chance?

[–] JudahBenHur@lemm.ee 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I dont know what that means I'm afraid

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It's an Indigenous thing ... I'm personally Cree in Canada and we are linguistic cousins to the Ojibway so we make fun of them and they make fun of us ... kind of like the Irish and Scottish ... and both of us love our Spam

We fry it about a dozen different ways and your abomination with cheese would make my family proud.

Do you ship food by any chance?

[–] JudahBenHur@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

I ship anything: tony and dr melphi on the sopranos was a big one. more recently I re-watched the wire and I was shipping bunk and rhonda, but it never happened :(

[–] CorrodedCranium@leminal.space 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The spam looked a bit like a hash brown for a moment there. Might be something worth adding next time

[–] JudahBenHur@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

this is a teaching moment I did not expect, but life lessons are rarely scheduled. I thank you from my soul

[–] nolefan33@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'd skip the ketchup, but other than that it looks absolutely perfect. Well done.

[–] JudahBenHur@lemm.ee 1 points 2 months ago

you know what was well done? the spam slices! heyoooooooo

[–] JimmyBigSausage@lemm.ee 3 points 2 months ago

What time is dinner?

Looks like a banging cheap/lazy meal. If you can find it, a thin BBQ sauce like Bachans makes a beautiful glaze on spam if you squirt a bit on right as you drop the spam in the pan

[–] USSMojave@startrek.website 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Looks like a teflon pan too, so extra yummy forever chemicals!

[–] haerrii 2 points 2 months ago

Bunch of nitrosamines from heating the spam too, I guess.

Sometimes I feel like it's either have fun or have no cancer.

The off brand Spam seems fine and I would absolutely eat that on its own. Everything else seems like tried to make it bad on purpose lol

[–] Gingerlegs@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)
[–] JudahBenHur@lemm.ee 1 points 2 months ago

it was fine. a sprinkle of oregano would have gone a long way in the presentation dept

[–] NegativeLookBehind@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Is this a cry for help?

[–] terry_jerry@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 months ago

It looks so bad, but I know it's soooo good
