The vegan place to discuss things.

Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.

I’ll take “Animals that eat all day” for 400, Alex

What do you mean humans lack the specialized digestive system that allows these animals to subsist healthily on an herbivorous diet?

Do gorillas eat all day and is their digestive tract so dissimilar from a human's? Also, I have personally subsisted healthily on an herbivorous diet for almost 25 years now.

They do actually. They eat about 50lbs a day, and their gut biome is specifically adapted to better break down greens to get their protein.

What if gorillas were given body builder supplements and fitness instructions, though? Imagine a gorilla with a fitness routine going at it for a few years. We've never seen a gorilla at full strength..

Imagine the average man => Arnold Schwartzenegger in his prime.
Now imagine the average gorilla => ???

One farmer says to me, “You cannot live on vegetable food solely, for it furnishes nothing to make bones with”; and so he religiously devotes a part of his day to supplying his system with the raw material of bones; walking all the while he talks behind his oxen, which, with vegetable-made bones, jerk him and his lumbering plow along in spite of every obstacle. Some things are really necessaries of life in some circles, the most helpless and diseased, which in others are luxuries merely, and in others still are entirely unknown.

Two pandas then, please.

(this meme is too ambiguous, could've dropped 'me' part altogether and presented these animals being confused by that statement)
