To enroll, go to Software Update and tap the prompt at the bottom.

Device region needs to be set to US, language to US English, Siri also needs to be set to US. I was able to join the wait list from Canada after changing all those settings.

If you’re in the EU, Apple has no Intelligence for you.

F that, they indiscriminately collected data from European websites, but still somehow won’t release the feature here. This is absolutely a dick move. I don’t understand how they think this is going to play out, but I can’t imagine it being good for anyone (mostly them).

I actually think this is because they don’t have infrastructure there yet, in addition to it not being GDPR friendly.

I’d probably wait for a wider release than one country & language in beta before assuming the worst.

Also, you’re not missing much. The beta is limited to pretty much just the on-device model for local tasks, and it can barely do those.

Yeah, I know that it’s like and English only, but it sure seems like they’re weaponising it to say „EC is bad”

thanks for the heads up. On the waitlist now. Hurts to get rid of irish siri but if she's smarter i'll take it.

edit: oh nice the wait was only like 10 minutes and there's an irish siri voice in the new options!

edit 2: holy shit siri is so much better.
