I think when you die you're dead and that's it, so to me it's just people making up bizarre ways to congratulate themselves on following their own cancerous code of ethics. Pretty sure it was cuz one of the nbc top dogs was close with OJ and Norm wouldn’t stop making jokes about OJ being a murderer. He was warned to stop and instead of giving in, he doubled down. Members of the cast and writers respected him for it and have spoke about it on podcasts and such.
