Somehow I don't understand electricity generation with oil. I have a normal oil well and transport the oil to a refinery 8m higher. However, not enough oil arrives there, even though the oil pump has a delivery height of 10m.

I have now installed a pipeline pump at approx. 4m, with the result that the previous 0.6m³ in the pipeline became 0. If I remove this pump, the content of the pipeline suddenly increases to 27m³ and the refinery starts working. and yes, the pump was pointing in the right direction.

The next problem is the fuel generators. I have 4 in a tower on the lower floor working. The supply seems to be sufficient. I now have build another 4 generators on the floor above the first floor, these again don't get any fuel, even though I have installed an mk2 pump directly at the bottom at the start of the riser pipe. The second floor is 8 walls higher above the first floor. This pump supposedly pumps up to 50m, but in the pump settings I only see a maximum height of 4m. Why?

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Where should I place the pipeline pumps? Should I use more refinerys? Or what's the secret here?

Key note in here for Linux Satisfactory players is that the nvapi is exposed now for Satisfactory, hopefully that means less toying with CLI options

I mean, I know Update 8 ruined everything it touched and some things it didn't, but...I seem to remember being able to connect conveyor lifts directly between machines and splitters. I also seem to remember being able to reverse the direction of conveyor lifts while placing them. Neither of those seem to work anymore.

I think I'm giving up until they've got the SMART mod working in 1.0. Playing this game without the SMART mod feels like playing in a sandbox, but every ten minutes you have to stop and count all the sand.

Been working on what we'll call the final Hub in this game. Main rail nexus and sorting floor, plus a warehouse being built. This is a shot of the mainline cooridor. Still a LOT to do

32

No update yesterday, didn't have much to show. But after way too many hours yesterday and some polish this morning I present the World Hole Bridge

33

Another update to the factory, Tiers 5 and 6 are unlocked, and now comes my specialty - the rail network.

Yesterday I paved over the Swamp, the new location of our next Hub. The second half of the day was spent building the East Coast Mainline, shown here. Right now going from Dune Desert to Swamp, and soon to be extended to Grassy Fields

Day 2 was shorter for me, had a holiday party, but still managed to build a Tier 3 Reinforced Plate/Modular Frame factory as shown. 20/min of each for now.

Today while my cohort is working on Plastic in the canyon I'll be moving out to Swamp to start building out our new Hub/train depot. Wish me efficiency.

Day one was fairly efficient, we've unlocked Tier 4 and have slowed down a bit there to focus on production. Rotors are at about 20/min and I'm currently doubling reinforced plates to bring frames online. Hoping to unlock railways today to finally get out of Dune Desert.

Power Towers are a game changer early game, we rushed to get those done and it has to be the easiest early-game way to get around

Don't forget if you like you can tune in to my build here: https://owncast.scrubbles.tech

PS if you look real closely you can see the three separate hub locations we've had, constantly moving and changing

It feels like there is always one more little thing that you can get done before hopping off. But then that turns into 10 other little things you can do. And the next thing you know it's the next day and the sun is coming up.

Today is the big day, day one of my new factory! Small beginnings, posting regular updates here. Wish me efficiency.

And if you're someone who likes to watch, I'll be streaming the whole thing here on the Fediverse at https://owncast.scrubbles.tech

Hello,

I haven't found much on the internet about an issue on loading game with update 8. I've ran into this so frequently that it's pretty much a feature on my installation where after load I'm in a hub with just a xeno zapper in my inventory.

Loading autosave will work as expected, but obviously takes me back a few minutes. Has anyone experienced the same?

I have tried to tame a Lizard Doggo today the first time. I'm playing the game now since 3 days and searched for this animal since the beginning. I never found them when i was walking. Today i could build my first vehicle and was more far away from the HUB. I found such a Doggo and could tame him. But after driving some meters, i couldnt find the Doggo anymore. Could it be, that they dont follow the car? How can i bring him to my base/Hub?

Official Memo: Pioneers are hereby granted a 120 second break to use the screenshot/photo mode to share a picture of something that they have built that is exceedingly efficient.

Maybe a regular thread, maybe not, we'll see how popular it is, but show off something cool you've built! A building, an efficient factory module, something artistic, take a moment to show off that thing you were really proud of, we want to see it!

Every time a new update drops, my friends and I set up a server and play together.

We have some basic rules, like don’t touch each others factories. And we have strategies like building a shared rail system where we set up stations at our personal factories to trade manufactured items with each other.

Does anyone else do this kind of thing? If so, what rules do you play by, and what other things do you do in general, to make it fun in a multiplayer setting?

Hello everyone!

Waving Pioneer emote

You've probably seen me posting random screenshots to the feed over the last few weeks, and I've been around for a while. As of yesterday I have been granted mod status by @cosmicrose@lemmy.world here in Satisfactory!

Don't worry, I don't plan on anything really changing at all. That being said, please feel free to let me know if there's anything we can do here to make things better.

Things I'd like to start posting -

  • Post official videos here, but not so much that it gets spammy.
    • (Probably not dev logs, but the official videos)
  • Major bugs/features

Per Ficsit requirements I have to provide my credentials, so know that Satisfactory is officially my most played game of all time, I've crossed over 1,400 hours playing it personally. Every year for the last 5 years now I play online with a friend and we build a new factory from Tier 0 to finishing Phase 4. I'm extremely happy to help mod here, and hopefully help out answering questions, bugs, optimization, or I'm always happy to give out ideas for builds. Don't hesitate to ping me!

Now, that being said, another screenshot for you because I'm proud of my last build and I'm excited to get started on a new build.

Night builds at the World Hole

We challenged ourselves to take advantage of the World Hole near Grassey Fields in the last build. This was because 1) The verticality of the area makes the build really interesting where you can't spread out and 2) The sooner we paved over the hole the sooner we'd stop falling into it. Over time it forced us to build up, and thus the cyberpunk-esque build started.

Here you're looking at the most successful subsidiary of the World Hole base, Applied Computing, making a few hundred Computers per minute.

Caterium 2: Paradise Island

Second Caterium build in Factory v3.0 (my last save), this caterium is the secondary Quickwire production facility, and primary Electromagnetic Control Rods facility. It processes 3,020 caterium/min.

Rush hour at Rocky Junction

Rocky Junction because the location of our hub in our 3rd factory, as I needed a huge space to merge our train network to. There is no production at Rocky Junction, but there are 23 platforms for solid goods and 4 liquid platforms in an adjoining area. Everything is built on top of a 10-foundation tall substructure where sorting happens. Rocky Junction was the nexus of our 3 (4-track) mainlines, the Gold Coast mainline, the North Coast mainline, and the Red Forest mainline

My friends and I are going to be starting our 4th factory in December (and I'm thinking about streaming it this time here on the fediverse).

Before we start our 4th though I'm revisiting our last factory. Never finished Phase 4 on that one... no golden cup this time. But to help boost our content I'm going to share my favorite builds from that as I reminisce, if that's okay with everyone.

My friends and I usually do an annual factory, starting late December and usually put about 400 hours into it each time. (Obligatory power plant screenshot provided) We, may have a problem. That aside, this year is interesting - no big release, no big update, except for U8.

We all pretty much stopped right around U8, and when it first came out it looked gorgeous, but everything broke in our huge factory pretty much instantly. I’ve poked my head in a couple of times, and from what I can tell Unreal 5 is amazingly performant, we went from 24ish FPS to 60+ in our final version, and things like train “rubber banding” from our server seems to be lessened.

But I want to know, as we’re looking towards it hitting stable, how are all of you doing with Update 8? How are dedicated servers? Is it best to start a new save with the major update?
