Newpipe

Wieso kann ich eigentlich Videos von @digitalcourage.de nicht in @newpipe öffnen? Umschalten auf Peertube kann ich ja in NewPipe, und auch @mediacccde schauen (und Soundcloud und Bandcamp konsumieren). Aber digitalcourage.video kann ich nur im Browser ansehen, was bei Android immer kompliziert ist, weil ich ja die Wanzen wie Chrome und Samsung Browser nur im größten Notfall nehme.

When I subscribe to someone's youtube channel through Newpipe, does their subscriber count on youtube go up? Or is subscribing just telling Newpipe to bookmark that content for me, but doesn't tell youtube anything?

The reason I ask is because the subscriber count on youtube could be an underestimate that way.

Falls noch wer in letzter Zeit Probleme mit Videos per #NewPipe hatte: mit der neuen Version 0.27.2 läuft's wieder, zumindest bei mir.

I'm using v0.27.1 downloaded from GitHub. I threw Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love as an example URL. Thought it might ease the pain of YT mucking up NP again.

For about 2-3 weeks now, the NewPipe Android app has been crashing when trying to load a video. I've tried clearing cache, even removing and re-installing the app and it still doesn't work.

I'm using v0.27.0

Steps to reproduce:

• Open the app
• Tap on a video link
• Video opens
• Tap PLAY icon to play video
• Loading circle appears
• Stops with an error pop up and a new notification
• Notification message says "Newpipe encountered an error, press to report." and "Network error".

Has anyone else encountered this problem before? Were you able to fix it?

Hab mich bisschen in den Einstellungen von @newpipe (App für privatsphäreschonenden Zugang zu #Youtube) umgesehen. Das kann sich lohnen. Bspw. mein Kontext: Kind nutzt die App auf dem Tablet, wenn es etwas schauen will, was z.B. im KikaPlayer nicht verfügbar ist. Wir setzen die Empfehlung von @dasnuf (aus ihren großartigen Podcasts #NUR30MIN und "Mit Kindern leben", danke dafür!) um, dass das Kind sich Kanäle für Kinderserien genehmigen lässt, also Videos nur über den entsprechenden...

Hi and hello.

It seems with one of the recent updates, audio quality defaults to either 32kbps or 48kbps m4a when I use mobile data. On WiFi it's always 128 kbps. I didn't find anything in the settings to combat this behavior, and it happens on my new Pixel as well as on my old Xiaomi.

I use Newpipe primarily as a music streaming app, so this, ehm, it sucks pretty bad.

Did I miss a setting or should I open an issue on github?

edit: I just opened an issue on github, hopefully this gets resolved.

edit 2: This apparently has been an issue for quite some time, it's not a bug though. Setting "Settings" > "Video and Audio" > "Limit resolution when using mobile data" to "No limit" resolved it, but it's not mentioned anywhere that this setting also affects the audio quality. https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipe/issues/8148

Con la nuova versione di NewPipe che supporta anche shorts e dirette, non c'è davvero più alcuna motivazione per usare l'app ufficiale di YouTube. Complimenti agli sviluppatori @newpipe

I keep getting notified that I should upgrade my newpipe apk to a newer version through a url. F-Droid only has up to v0.25.2 but the latest is v0.26.1. It's been like that for >1w (the discrepancy), is this usual for F-Droid repos? Or something with my installation is wrong?
