He smacks his lips as she continues,"A penny's worth of these and a penny's worth of those..."

He exclaims questioningly as she walks away.

He turns and looks towards the top of the counter. He says,"Nothing for me, thank you....I'm just drooling!"

Patty stands nearby her doll as Shermy sits on the ground reading. She puts her hand out to catch the raindrops and says,"April showers bring May flowers"

Shermy stands and points at her; he says,"That's wrong...you mean, 'April showers may bring flowers'."

They look off to their left as she says,"Here comes Charlie Brown....he'll know how that saying goes"

Charlie Brown approaches wearing a raincoat. He smiles and says,"You're both wrong...it's 'April showers bring raincoats!'."

Charlie Brown walks up to Snoopy sitting on the ground and Shermy building a small animal-house. He points at the house and exclaims, "Snoopy won't be able to get into that doghouse! It's too small!!"

He continues as Snoopy frowns,"How could you make a mistake like that? What kind of a carpenter are you?"

Snoopy sticks his tongue out at him as Shermy snaps,"This is not a doghouse....this is a birdhouse!"

Charlie Brown blushes as they walk off and Snoopy laughs. He looks at the reader and says,"Oh...."

Violet and Patty are walking along. Violet asks,"Boys are rough and mean, aren't they?"

As they walk down the lane Patty replies,"I'll say they are, but girls are different....girls are kind and gentle"

Charlie Brown jumps as Patty and Violet approach him and shout,"Get out of the way!!"

He stands dazed watching them as they walk off. Violet concludes,"Girls are peace-loving amd considerate"

He turns to her and says,"Well, I can't, really...."
