I took it out of my pocket and tried to turn it on, hmm, twist switch was rather tight. Tightened it down or maybe it was already down. It didn't turn on but I figured I maybe had left it on all night by accident and drained the battery. Started to remove the head and heard a popping sound. Battery (alkaleak but fairly new) had some kind of black stuff on the casing near the negative terminal, no other obvious damage to the light or battery. I put in a new battery => won't turn on. So I guess the circuit is blown.

I like the light and they are affordable so I guess I'll get another, but it seems like a shame that I don't see much of a way to repair it or scrounge usable parts from it. I will try to remove the circuit board when I get a chance. Not now though.

Oh well. Bring a spare.

When British conservationists flew to Slovenia this summer hoping to catch enough singing cicadas to reintroduce the species to the New Forest, the grasshopper-sized insects proved impossible to locate, flying elusively at great height between trees.

Now a 12-year-old girl has offered to save the Species Recovery Trust’s reintroduction project. Kristina Kenda, the daughter of the Airbnb hosts who accommodated the trust’s director, Dom Price, and conservation officer Holly Stanworth in the summer summer, will put out special nets to hopefully catch enough cicadas to re-establish a British population.

“I’m very pleased to be able to help the project,” Kristina said. “I like nature and wildlife and it was fun helping Dom and Holly look for cicadas when they were here. Cicadas are a part of the summer in Slovenia so it would be nice to help make them a part of the summer in England as well.”

I have a new build I'm tryin to cobble together but I can't get it to post the first time.

I have a ASRock B650E Taichi M/B, Ryzen 7 7600x cpu, an EVGA 850w Gold, a MSI 2060, 32 gig of ram, 1tb SSD and a 1000gig HDD, all in a Fractal Torrent case. I've hooked everything up and can see the RGB and smart switches light up, but when I hit either power button I get no response.

I've reseated the cables, removed the GPU, reseated the ram, waited hours, and nothin, not even the fans kickin up. What Am I missin?

I took my medium format TLR camera for a walk the other day and came across some local graffiti so I snapped a pic.

After developing the film and while it was still drying I snapped a pic to do a quick little edit to see how they came put I got this unsettling version that I had to keep and share.
